The Older Woman (Part 2).

Another sequel to a previous article. This one once again returns to the theme of the older woman being the villain of the peace and whose cunning and murderous ways are enhanced by her age and experience.

Maybe I am doing Lindsay Crouse a disservice by including her in this category but nonetheless her role in 'House of Games' had her playing a psychologist of a certain age. Drawn into a world of deceit, scams and deception she doesn't take too kindly when she is drawn into an affair with one of the con artists who systematically swindles her out of her money. This really is a very neat thriller indeed with a great story and very solid performances. The final scene with Ms. Crouse taking her revenge on her guide to the world of confidence tricks (Joe Mantegna) shows her in full murderous fury.

Next on the list is Kate Nelligan who played one of the murderous women the hero (Armand Assante) meets in the spoof film 'Final Instinct'. The so-called erotic film genre is a ripe target for a spoof and though 'Hexed' had tried it earlier this is probably the better effort though both are pretty good. Here is Kate Nelligan in full flow shooting her husband (so she thinks) and later eliminating a prosecution witness to the crime.

Into the world of television for the next lady killer of a certain age. 'The Equaliser' starred British actor Edward Woodward as a man who righted the wrongs of the world. He never seemed to have much luck with the ladies however who always seemed to leave him, die or turn out to be the enemy by the end of each episode. Being no spring chicken himself the producers obviously had to pick older women to play the love interest and here are a few reasons why 'The Equaliser' never found true love.

When I reviewed the Albert Pyun film 'Mean Guns' I concentrated most of the vidcaps on the character D (Kimberly Warren). Well apart from her (and Tina Cote) another member of the group trapped in Ice T's game of death was Con played by Deborah Van Valkenburg. Ms. Valkenburg has been appearing in films for a long time now (I actually saw her in cult classic 'The Warriors' a few days ago)  Though a talented actress she never seems happy in front of the camera or maybe it's just the parts she gets given. Anyway here she is looking typically apprehensive as she fights for her life in Pyun's best film to date.

Somebody should have told this woman that you don't mess with Arnie Schwarzenegger!. However Carroll Baker did in 'Kindergarten Cop' and actually got the better of him. It was only the intervention of the Kindergarten Cop's girlfriend which saved Arnie from a nasty death in the climactic scene where he has been hunted down into a school's shower room by a vengeful grandmother.

And finally a few miscellaneous vidcaps featuring both American and British actresses. Most have appeared before though some are new. You'd do well to name any of the British ones if you are not from the UK.
