Dressed To Kill.

There is a variety of woman who takes great pride in her appearance. She wears the finest jewellery, takes great care with her make up and dresses to kill (literally). Designer dresses, haute couture and plated pistols are the tools for these ladies.

During the sixties she graced many a film including another James Bond film 'Casino Royale'. This was a pretty poor spoof of the spy genre which was so popular back then and Ms. Andress was one of the few pluses in a disjointed film. Here is the deadly Vesper, dressed to kill in the 'Casino Royale'.

Whenever someone glamourous appears in a Raymond Chandler story you can bet your bottom dollar they are rotten to the core and only achieved the high rolling lifestyle through dubious means. The most famous example of this is the Velma character in 'Farewell My Lovely'. The 1970's version of this classic piece of femme fatale storytelling starred Charlotte Rampling as the guttersnipe who marries her way into high society and who is determined to stay there by any means - even murder.

You wouldn't normally associate a film from the 'Universal Soldier' series with an elegant ladykiller. However in the third instalment of the series a group of wealthy party goers are held to ransom. The ringleader is the following lady (Claudette Roche), dressed in red and dressed to kill, especially if the party goers don't pay up.

Charlies AngelsThe German film actress Elke Sommer appeared as a deadly female spy (Linka) in one of the Dean Martin/ Matt Helm spy films called 'The Wrecking Crew'. Unfortunately, for the most part she is only called upon to look beautiful (which she does very well) whilst Martin delivers a tired dialogue full of unsubtle innuendo. The  good news however is the presence of a bevy of sixties 'dolly' birds including Nancy Kwan and Sharon Tate. For inclusion in this article we see the duplicitous Linka dressing up for a night of entertainment with Matt Helm - pity he spotted the gun she hid underneath the pillow.

'Trigger Happy' had two ladies dressed to the nines and ready and willing to kill. The bigger star of these two was Ellen Barkin who I have always found to be a pretty overrated actress and the second was Angie Everhart. To my mind Ms. Everhart wins on the glamour stakes but neither of them could do much to rescue this uninspiring and not very funny crime spoof.b_enaphoto.jpg (18790 bytes)
